The website is closed due to intensive maintenance but you’ll find a Curriculum Vitae summary of Ceramist Brenda van Eekelen.
She is born 1959 in the Netherlands, worked in Holland and Belgium with patchwork compositions and attended to painting and drawing courses. When she came to Curacao in 1993 she began her work in Ceramics. She graduated at the Academia di Arte (Otrobanda).
She also participated in several workshops: Ciro Abath (clay building), Scott Meyer (decoration technique), Kennith Olbina (clay sculpting), Sarah Chamberlin (decoration technique) and Louis la Rooy. She also attended to a workshop of Yih-Wen Kuo (Taiwan ~ USA) at the studio of Ellen Spijkstra, Curaçao.
In Belgium she specializes in other art forms and in 2005 obtains as top of her Class her “Cumlaude” diploma at the Municipal Academia for Expressive Arts (IKO) at Hoogstraten (B) in the graphical art form.
At the moment of writing she lives and works in Curaçao again.
